Everything about this place is phenomenal. I think my only qualm with this place is the lack of parking and that there are no restrooms in the actual restaurant only single person stalls that are essentially public bathrooms right outside the door. However everything else is TOP NOTCH! Been here several times now and never had a bad meal or drink or service. Couple things .. 100% make a reservation or you won't get it and day of most likely won't cut it especially on a later in the week weeknight or weekend. I highly recommend the old bay shrimp and Caesar salad and also the Parker rolls to start. I always get the filet mignon and lobster tail and it's always outstanding and always get the mashed potatoes and broccolini. My drink of choice is the whiskey sour (always when egg white is involved) but I've also had their special old fashioned that is also fantastic. They use fat from their meat and I don't really understand how it works still but it's great! Prepare to spend quite a bit but no buyers remorse you won't be disappointed and you will be very full with leftovers. Love it here and love the local vibe!
Where do I begin??? What an amazing experience. David at the bar is amazing! We loved how kind and personable he was. The food was up with the best of the best in San Diego. The space itself is modern and sleek. We will for sure be back. Possible best happy hour in North County as well.
Was able to snag a last minute reservation here for Father's Day dinner for a party of 3. We were lucky and got a parking spot right out front of the restaurant. For appetizers we ordered the beef tartare and the Parker house rolls. Both were very good. I had to stop myself from filling up on the rolls, they were so tasty. We ordered the associate board with a side of the truffled cream spinach to share with the table. All three cuts of meat were great. I really enjoyed them with the assortment of sauces and dips it came with. It was more than enough food for our party. The truffled cream spinach was also delicious. For dessert we got the butter cake. It was very sweet but still great. Overall we had a great experience here. Our waitress was patient and kind. Service overall was great. The food was tasty. I would love to come back with a larger group to try the executive board!
Delicious! Our favorite items were the pork chop, Wagyu tritip, broccolini, and banana fosters cheesecake. Everything was exceptional and we were very happy.
My husband and I finally got to experience the greatness of Rare Society. I decided to surprise my husband for his birthday and bring him here to try out one of their delicious boards. First we started off with drinks. He ordered a rare old fashion which consisted of dry-aged beef washed bourbon, rosemary oleo, bitters, and a big ice cube with their logo which added a nice tough. I had one of their mocktails which was really good. We shared an order of the Parker house rolls and let me say, you can't come here and not order them. They are delicious! We then opted for the executive board which had 3 different cuts of meat, a dry aged ribeye, filet mignon, and dry aged ny strip. All were very good but the winner that night was the filet mignon. We ordered potatoes au gratin and Woodford broccolini which came with a sumac yogurt. Whoa! They were both amazing! The service was superb! 10/10 would definitely recommend and will be coming back.
Rare Society is amazing! We had a Friday evening reservation and were seated right away. The restaurant is really small so I would definitely recommend having a reservation. We were seated in the booths facing the bar and I liked the vibe of the area. There is outdoor seating as well. Elise took great care of us. We started with wine and a few craft cocktails. If you're adventurous, have the bartender create a cocktail for you! The food is incredible. Everything was cooked to perfection. We started with the Ceasar salad and grilled artichoke. I love grilled artichoke and it was the BEST I have ever had. We chose the associate board with 22oz of wagyu meats. It was more than enough for 2 people. We had the whipped potatoes and truffle creamed spinach as sides which were also fantastic. I highly recommend the butter cake for dessert!
Walked in around 7pm on a Saturday and was able to get bar seating immediately! Ordered the associate platter, pickled fried onion rings, Shell Mac and cheese and wood fired broccolini for 2! The associate platter I believe came with the filet mignon, Australian wagyu tri-tip and American wagyu Denver! Really enjoyed them all but wish I had asked what was included in the platter before so I could opt for a la carte and sub in a dry aged steak maybe for the tri tip or go with with the other platter option! Overall, filet mignon was soo tender and the American wagyu Denver had such depth of flavor. We visibly clapped when we took the first bite LOL. The tri tip was a little fatty for my taste but we did opt for medium rare even though it was suggested to do medium to render down the fat more (now I know why lol!). I thought the sauces were ok, my favorite being the bearnaise and the whipped butter. Wasn't the biggest fan of the salsa but my friend liked it a lot haha. And we didn't have much of the bone marrow, didn't really find a pairing we liked with that. Of the sides we tried - the broccolini was definitely the star - it was SO well charred and that za'tar sauce paired really nicely with it!! The Mac and cheese was good but pretty standard in my opinion! The picked onion rings had this incredible kick to them but I think after 1 or 2 they felt too heavy to keep eating so we boxed half of it haha Would come back to try the dry aged steaks but the platter was a nice sampler!
